So how much money are you speding to get to work to make the money that will hopefully pay for your gas?!?!

Ok. My brother has pointed out the gas prices of San Diego Well here is The Gas in Memphis. We definetely arent paying AS much, but it still takes a chunk out of the income per month.
If it is 14 miles from my house to work everyday(28 miles a day)...that's five days a week, at 4 weeks a month....560miles and ~$2.30, and my car gets atleast 19 miles to the gallon. SO it cost me about $68.00 a month to go to work......not including church, fun activities, store, mom and dad's house......child care.....and what ever my husband has to drive....
So i am wondering how much other folks are paying....just to get to work to make money.

I just crunched the numbers. At $2.79/gallon (where it will be in a couple of days), it costs me $7.44 per day for my commute. (I get about 18 mpg, and I drive 24 miles each way).

That equates to $37.20/week, or $161.20/month, or $1,934.40/year. Yikes.

And, like you said, that's just for my car, only for commuting. Me and Jackie filled up our tanks together on Sat. night -- the total for both cars was $89.17. Ugly.

By the way, you need to fix your hyperlink to that Memphis Gas Prices site -- you have an extra "http://" in there...

Amy, looks like your blog was "spammed". Nothing dangerous like a virus; just annoying. You can delete the FCPG comment by clicking on the little trash can. Assuming, that is, that you do want to delete it... ;-)

I got to this link from Jon's site. Me and my family started going to the City Church about a year ago. Ok, now that I'm done with the intros...I've been meaning to figure this out too, but never had the real impetus until I read your blog today. So here 'goes:

10 miles to work (20 per day)
Cost: 3.07 (can't seem to bring myself to put cheap gas in my car)
19mpg
18 gallon tank

19*18= 342 miles per tank
400 miles per month (not including when I drive to church)

So, $55.26 every three weeks or so. Not bad I guess. This doesn't include my wife's car (Volvo SUV) Seems like we fill that up every other week if not more. Well thanks for this little exercise. I know how fun it is to get comments on a blog.
