Yesterday WAS all about ME!

and it was oh- so - nice. My husband had given me a gift certificate for a day spa a long time ago. It took me a while to work up the courage to go. I wasn't sure how I would feel about a stranger rubbing their hands all over my back......oh I am so glad I went!
But the day started so nicely, Chad (my hub) had made sure my son's diaper bag was packed the night before. (this is something I always put off, i am too tired at night too restock the wipes, insert more diapers, make sure 2 servings of fruit and vegetables are available, include some sort of snack like Fruit-loops, gold fish, graham crackers, an extra change of clothes, a new toy to try to attain his attention, a clean bottle, pacifier, bib, and there is more......but i want to tell you about my day) And Chad helped me make my lunch, another item that I as a procrastinator I put this off. So i got out the door effortlessly and with Make-up on (especially my favorite bronzer)!!
At work when would try and call Chad he could not be reached, or his phone would constantly fade in and out....
Well I found out he was at home CLEANING!!!!!
It was so nice to come home to a clean kitchen sink, washed floor, clean sheets.....OH SO NICE...
and on top of that i was able to go to the spa and relax....i recomend it to anyone....EVERYONE.
i told Chad form now on he could give a gift certificate to me for valetines day, mother's day, fouth of July, Canada Day, Christmas.....ANYTIME!
Well i must go to work.........

I admit I have a pen fetish...

Today I changed the color of my pen and it made my day brighter?! Well maybe it did. OR maybe it made all these comments, post-it notes, and letters look more vibrant. SO what pen did I use? Its awesome. Its called a Liquid Expresso-extra fine point-Blue. It writes smooth, makes my handwriting look amazing. I love leaving my signature with it.

My First Blog Ever

Well I have set up a blog. I was jealous of my older brother, he was capturing moments, letting friends and family know his thoughts, sharing ideas and memories.....and well, I wanted to do that too. These are all items I would write down in a journal, not really, but who would ever see that? No one. Atleast not while I was living. So here it is, I hope it entertains you, and gives you insight to my life.

I titled it "It's not about me", because when i began thinking of all the things I could write in MY blog, it occurred to me it wont be about me, but about the wonderful world of marriage, parenting, loving God, and family. (okay it should read... God, marriage, parenting, then family)

The last five years (five years July 8th) of marriage and this last year of being a mom have showed me that I am the happiest when it's not about me. My day ends on a good note when Chad has laughed at my attempt to tell a joke, or I have had another "Owens" moment....(Owens moment: defined as stumbling, breaking something due to an advancement in motion with lack of control....and well there are many definitions)

Or the day ends with a smile because Jeb has learned to sing along to American Idol!! He will put his hand to his mouth and sing while the contestants sing. (GO BO BYCE!) I dont know if we should call it signing but he says AHHHH and changes the notes as he goes. Or I see Jeb smile because he knows we are going to push him in his new swing. Things that are so simple make the long days at work worth while.

I hope this blogging thing works, because I just used up the rest of my lunch break writing it!

Lunch: one Big n' tasty with cheese only and watered down blue powerade. (ugh)
